Mark is a Chartered Town Planner and former salaried Planning Inspector with over fifteen years of experience. He has dealt with a wide range of major and minor planning applications, appeals and development management related projects within both the public and private sectors during this time.
Mark gained a Masters degree in Town and Country Planning (MTPL) from the University of Manchester in 2004 and has been a full member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) since 2007.
The majority of his experience has been spent in local government working for a number of local planning authorities in the Greater Manchester area.
As a salaried Planning Inspector Mark acted on behalf of the Secretary of State in providing an independent tribunal and exercising impartial judgement when carrying out transferred planning appeal casework. In dealing with such appeals, he was required to consider written and oral evidence on a wide range of complex planning matters in order to reach fully reasoned decisions.
Mark’s unique skillset therefore allows him to view proposed schemes objectively, with a focus on providing robust evidence in support of an application or appeal to ensure that it stands the best chance of success.
