Appeal won to retain an HMO in Leeds

FullerLong secured planning permission on appeal to retain a HMO (Housing Multiple Occupancy) in a designated Article 4 area, which in usually means a blanket refusal on HMO’s, in Leeds.

As part of the appeal, FullerLong created an innovative legal agreement to ensure occupancy exclusively for working professionals. This removed a significant element of the Council’s objection to ‘studentification’ of the local area which is often a consequence of HMO’s.

This successful result will add reassurance and comfort to landlords in similar situations.
For our client the approval ensured that financial losses were avoided, their property portfolio was maintained and disruption to tenants was minimal.
